Treatment:
Physicians may decide to amputate depending on the level of disease, blood flow, psychological state of the patient, cosmetic requirements and functional requirements.
Board Certified Pedorthists do not perform foot surgery, therefore your non surgical treatment options will vary. Foot wear, custom or customized will keep you up and ambulatory. It is possible that a custom orthotic can improve mobility by simulating the portion of the foot that has been amputated as well as redistributing weight and balancing the patient.
